LET ME GUESS...
Your days are pretty busy...
you wear lots of hats.
I wear lots of hats, too (and not just the literal ones)...
I'm an artist, writer, mother, wife, widow, musician, teacher, friend.
Just like me, I know you're pulled in a lot of different directions. And while all of those roles can be good, the rush of it all can leave us feeling a bit hurried and overwhelmed at times.
I know you feel it. There's just a lot to do...
And you've probably found yourself exhausted and in need of a break:
- but you find yourself reaching for the mindless social media scroll, knowing that it doesn't quite fill you up
- then you feel guilty for having spent so much time scrolling through picture perfect IG feeds
- and you find yourself wishing you could use that time for something more restorative
- but you feel like you just don't have time...
FEELS A LITTLE BIT LIKE A GERBIL WHEEL, doesn't it?
The greatest gift you can give yourself in the busyness is the gift of a creative space.
Giving yourself the container to realign with your creative identity is an act of care and compassion to yourself.
a safe, creative space is the answer:
even if you don't think you're creative...
even if you've never picked up a paintbrush...
I'm here to say you ARE a creative being.
You were made in the image of a Creator and were made, in part, to reflect that creativity.
You were created to make.
This is a MUST attend if...
- You're feeling the rush and hurry in your day to day life
- You don't believe you have a creative bone in your body
- You find yourself in a challenging season of life and need to redirect your focus
- You wish you could start something new and just be safe in being a beginner
- You've ever felt like you don't have the time (then you're the one that really needs this!)
This workshop was created for you - as an opportunity to stop the hectic rush of overscheduled life and come back to yourself through the restful practice of watercolor.
WHAT IF You left judgement behind and explored your creativity with wonder and curiosity?

WHAT would it feel like to leave perfectionism at the door...
Whenever you're starting something new, your brain will give you a hundred reasons why you shouldn't do it...
maybe you had a bad experience in elementary art class...
or perhaps you struggle with being perfect (as I once did--for years!) and you're just a teeny bit nervous you won't get it right...
I'm here to tell you, there's no right or wrong in a creative practice. You come as you are, open to the idea that you can create beautiful things, and explore your innate, God-given creativity to make a restful space for yourself.

I'm Gabi, artist, mender, and missionary for beauty.
I didn't always value beauty or my innate, God-given creativity. I didn't always see the need for a reflective mirror of the Creator in my life. I used to believe utility, efficiency, and production were the benchmarks of cultivated living. Now I see and know and feel the intrinsic truth that beauty awakens faith.
Through difficult seasons in my life, art has been a language that has spoken into the divide, a bridge that's taken me from rush to rest.
I believe a creative practice is for everyone and can take you out of overwhelm and into restoration.

You're going to

this

Reconnect
It seems as everything in our culture tells us that beauty is unecessary and that it's more valuable to exchange utility for art. We'll spend some time reconnecting to your identity as a creative individual.

Reflect
Let's paint! We'll spend time talking line and wash technique and then reflect on our identity by immersing ourselves in a gentle, supportive painting session. You'll be encouraged by your own creativity.

Restore
It's so easy to fall back into the rush. We'll spend some time talking about how you felt at the beginning of our session, how you feel after, and how to maintain a restorative creative practice that allows you to invite rest into your daily life.

Join me in this beginner-friendly, non-intimidating painting session where we move through a 3 step flow for stepping out of the hurry, tapping into your innate creativity, and creating beautiful art.

- why you were created to make
- how to use watercolor as a visual language
- learn about the difference between tube and pan paints
- how to use a reference photo
- managing a creative practice with a busy schedule
- a community of like-minded creatives ready to leave judgement and perfectionism aside
You'll have instant access to a supply list (you don't need much at all, I promise!).
Welcome to your creative practice.

Before you go...
I know first hand the self doubt that comes when you start something new. That's what makes watercolor so gentle--you can't get it wrong!
I've found a watercolor practice to not only be a beautiful space to fill my creativity needs, but also to be an extension of expression. There are times I'm not even sure what I'm feeling, but the invitation of my watercolor supplies and blank paper call me to overcome the hurry and rush that can so easily complicate my life. The end result isn't the goal; the process of making and reattuning my senses to my creative identity is what restores rest to my heart and mind.
I want that same experience for you.
