Creative Inspiration | November Edition

inspiration learn

Fall weather hasn't yet arrived in South Texas, although the humidity is a bit less than usual, and that alone is cause to celebrate. While I'm contemplating getting our Christmas trees out a bit early, I've been inspired by the holiday season a bit differently this year than in years past. I think it's the gratitude of a full life that has me a bit reflective. It wasn't so long ago that my son and I found ourselves in the most desolate of holiday seasons, having just lost my husband Matt to brain cancer.

Here we are, just three holiday seasons later, in awe of the Lord and His goodness, recognizing that "the lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance" (Psalm 16:6)

Here's a bit of what's inspiring me this month...

Wallace Seymour: The Paris Palette.

About a month ago I ordered this beautiful palette from Jeanne Oliver. The colors are light, subtle, and simply gorgeous. I did a quick review and color swatch on the blog.

The Arcadian Wild: Happy Golden Days

They're one of my favorite bands out of Nashville and they've just released a holiday album! We've had this on repeat for the last two weeks!

Rembrandt is in the Wind

This sweet book has been on my nightstand stack for almost a year! 😳 I can't believe I waited this long to pick it up--it's so lovely!

How to Read a Symphony

As a pianist and cellist, one of my first loves was the performance stage. Surrounded by musicians, my work was no longer solitary, but a small piece of a greater whole.

Here's to gentler days, filled with the sounds, colors, and rest of the changing season! 🌿
