"Gabi is such a great teacher, patient and calm.."

gathering fragments, finding meaning

I’m Gabi Brown, a multi-disciplinary, natural media artist who works with watercolor, mixed media, textiles, clay and collage to explore the connection between creativity, faith, and rest. My art practice is deeply influenced by the textures and colors of nature, the landscapes of my part-time home in Provence, and a desire to create with materials that feel rooted and true.

Collage, in particular, holds a special place in my work. There’s something profoundly meaningful about gathering scraps—fragments of paper, bits of text, pieces of color—and layering them into something whole. For me, it mirrors the way we hold stories in our lives: scattered moments, ordinary details, even broken pieces, woven together into something beautiful and worth remembering.

In Stories in Scraps, I’ll guide you through this gentle process of storytelling through collage, helping you discover how the simplest materials can carry memory, meaning, and rest. My hope is that you’ll leave not only with a finished piece of art, but with a way of making that feels restorative and deeply personal—something you can return to again and again.
