A MAKER

The Studio PRACTICE

I’m an interdisciplinary artist and creative guide whose work is shaped by faith, the natural world, and the redemptive act of making.

My work does not come from ease, but from attentive living—from the honest terrain of grief and beauty, waiting and restoration. Over time, I have come to understand creativity not simply as a practice, but as a response. As prayer. As offering.

In the studio, I work with botanicals that are gathered, pressed, printed, and preserved, alongside handmade paper, cloth, and traditional bookbinding methods. Leaves and flowers are given time to rest into paper; pages are folded, stitched, and bound into journals and books meant to be held, used, and kept. Each piece carries traces of place, season, and care.

Whether I am preparing botanical prints, binding a hardbound journal, or guiding others through a creative practice, the work begins with the same quiet intention: to make space—for attention, for reflection, and for the slow forming of something lasting.

WHAT GUIDES

THE WORK

gathering with Care

Working with botanicals that are gathered, pressed, and preserved slowly—honoring the integrity of natural materials and the seasons that shape them.

MAKING FOR KEEPING

Creating handbound books and journals through patient processes, with the hope that what is made will be held, used, and kept over time.

BEAUTY AS WITNESS

Understanding beauty not as decoration, but as a faithful way of telling the truth—through attention, restraint, and care in the making.

HOW THE WORK TOOK SHAPE

My way of working has been shaped over time, through both training and lived experience. Before my hands learned paper and thread, I was formed through years of classical music as a pianist and cellist. Learning to listen closely—to phrasing, silence, structure, and tempo—deeply influenced how I understand rhythm, patience, and restraint. Those same sensibilities now guide my work in the studio.

Creativity, for me, has never been separate from life. My work has been shaped not by ease, but by the honest terrain of grief and beauty, waiting and restoration. Over time, making became more than a discipline or practice—it became a way of responding. A way of paying attention. A way of staying present to what could not be rushed or resolved.

I have come to see creativity as a companion in healing—not something that fixes or bypasses pain, but something that helps us remain with it gently. Through gathering, binding, and preserving, the work offers a way to hold what has been given, to mark time, and to make room for meaning to form slowly.

Whether I’m binding a book, working with botanicals, or guiding others through a creative practice, the intention remains the same: to create space for attention, for reflection, and for the quiet work of mending that happens over time.
